Based at our Newcastle Depot and reporting to the Depot Manager, the Logistics Scheduler will be responsible for:
Responsibilities
- Scheduling day to day deliveries of bulk fuels from terminal to customer and company delivery sites utilising the available fleet based at the Newcastle Depot
- Ensuring that Lowes fleet operates efficiently by minimising operating costs through effective load maximisation, route planning and driver scheduling
- Entering scheduled deliveries and delivery details promptly into the Lowes database in accordance with NHVR requirements
- Liaising and communicating with company drivers, customers and transport sub-contractors on a daily basis
- Supporting depot operations including trip processing and dispatch activities
- Remote monitoring of fuel tank levels across sites throughout service areas
- Meeting and exceeding customer service level requirements
- Schedule trucks servicing and maintenance
- Managing driver rosters and timesheets
- Support of Depot Operations
Skills
- Previous scheduling experience considered an advantage but not essential as full on the job training will be provided
- A good understanding of Basic Fatigue Management (BFM) and national heavy vehicles regulatory requirements
- Ability to handle changing situations under pressure and make optimal logistic decisions
- Critical thinking with a focus on problem solving and solution based outcomes
- Capable of working unsupervised and managing time effectively
- Strong transport & logistics background
- Operational experience is an advantage
- Good computer skills including Excel
