The Aboriginal Health Council of South Australia Limited (AHCSA) is the peak body representing Aboriginal community-controlled health and substance misuse services in South Australia at state and national levels.
Our primary role is to be the 'health voice' for all Aboriginal people in South Australia. We achieve this by advocating for the community and supporting workers through our Member Services with appropriate Aboriginal health programs based on a holistic perspective of health.
Summary of the Role
The Member Relationship Officer position is a Full-Time 2 year fixed position.
The Member Relationship Officer is responsible for fostering and strengthening relationships with AHCSA's Member Services, ensuring a positive membership experience through the delivery of high-quality, professional, and responsive service that aligns with AHCSA's constitutional objectives.
As the central point of contact for Member Services, this position provides exceptional service, offering Members timely information, advice, and assistance. The Member Relationship Officer plays a crucial role in connecting Member Services with AHCSA staff and external stakeholders, facilitating effective communication across all parties.
In addition, the position coordinates member-focused events, ensures the maintenance of accurate member records, and gathers feedback to drive continuous improvement in member engagement and service quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Relationship Management: Building and maintaining effective relationships with key staff within Member Services, supported by agreed engagement processes and protocols
- Member Engagement and Support: Providing responsive and professional information, advice and facilitation to respond to Member queries and support connections between Members, ACHSA staff and external stakeholders
- Risks and Issues Management Appropriately managing risks and issues related to Member relationships with AHCSA, with support as required
- Member Services Communications: Planning and delivering appropriate communications to Member Services, in collaboration with the Communications Team
- Event Coordination: Assisting with the planning and delivery of Member-focused events to support relationship management, networking and development
- Member Records Management: Maintaining accurate and up to date contact details for Member Services
- Feedback and Quality Improvement: Capturing Member feedback, identifying opportunities for improved engagement and quality improvement
Essential Experience
- Experience in a communications role, including development of communications strategy, event management, organisational communication, engaging with members and maintaining member databases.
- Experience working in a member based organisation, and engaging with members across organisations.
- Experience engaging with Aboriginal leaders, organisations, and communities, to provide quality services.
Desirable Experience
- Experience working in the Aboriginal community controlled health sector.
- Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Event Management or related field.

Special Conditions
- Out of normal hours work may be required.
- Requires the ability to travel intra-state and interstate, including overnight absences.
- National Police Certificate is required.
- Working with Children Screening may be required.
- A valid Driver's License is required.
- A requirement of the position is that the incumbent identifies as being of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent pursuant to the exemption from the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (SA).
