As a leader in the field, this Financial Services Market Research organisation continues to grow from strength to strength. As a result they have an immediate need for an Australian Head of Sales, who is dynamic, result-driven and has a knack for developing new business opportunities while building long lasting relationships

What will my day to day look like?

Within the role, you will directly report to the CEO and be responsible for Australian Sales for new clients while looking to increase participation in their syndicated research and building stronger relationships with new and existing clients.
This newly created position is to actively bring in new business with existing and new clients targeting growth market segments in Australia focusing on promoting new products to existing & new markets domestically.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of their clients and the markets they operate in to leverage their research offerings.
  • Identifying how their extensive research assists client strategy/ product development & client engagement.
  • Contribute to the development of the group's sales strategy.
  • Develop and execute an annual sales budget, plan and client account plans for the "assigned markets and clients" to execute.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Develop strategies to expand the firm's presence and services offered to clients.
  • Prepare and deliver proposals, pitches, and presentations to secure new projects.
  • Have an in-depth knowledge of the research process, products and take to the market the value proposition.
  • Sell syndicated, benchmarking and customised research products and services to assigned markets and market segments.
  • Maintain and grow the existing client relationships in assigned markets and market segments to ensure annual contract renewals to increase the Dollar value per report and value per client relationship.
  • Achieve weekly sales activity levels with the aim to exceed revenue budgets.
  • Cross refer sales opportunities in areas outside assigned segments to support the growth of the business.
  • Attend Industry conferences and events to identify new sales opportunities.
Leadership: The role has leadership responsibility for a team of 2 sales / sales support.

What skills and experience will I need?

You have at least 5 -10 years sales strategy or Marketing experience in the Financial Services industry.

You also have:
  • Tertiary degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Excellent oral and written skills with the ability to tailor communication (sales proposals, emails etc) to C Suite Executives to the trading Banking & Finance industry
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • The ability to build rapport with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to handle complex situations and tough decision making.
  • Strong judgement and critical thinking.
  • Ability to be self-motivated, operate independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Experienced with Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Experience in using Client Relationship Management Tool, Workbooks or similar
