About the Opportunity

South Western Sydney Local Health District is seeking a compassionate and experienced Allied Health Assistant (Level 2/3) to join our dedicated paediatric team. This permanent part-time role offers a unique opportunity to work across Bankstown Community Health Centre and Fairfield Community Health Centre, supporting children and families from diverse cultural backgrounds.

As an integral member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality support to allied health professionals in delivering paediatric Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy services. You'll work both independently and collaboratively, assisting with individual and group therapy programs, preparing resources, clinical administrative tasks and engaging directly with children and families. Your ability to connect with culturally diverse communities and your commitment to inclusive, family-centred care will be key to your success.

What You'll be Doing

Provide a high quality clinical service to clients and their families/carers under the supervision of an Allied Health Professional to optimise health outcomes for the clients of the service. Undertake designated departmental and administrative tasks necessary to support service delivery.

  • Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or relevant qualification or Minimum 12 months full-time equivalent relevant experience with commitment to undertake the Certificate IV in AHA within 12 month period.
  • Describe your experience providing clinical support under the supervision of an Allied Health Professional. How did your contribution help optimise outcomes for paediatric clients or their family?
  • Outline your experience with administrative tasks and clinical documentation. How do you ensure accuracy and confidentiality in your work, and what systems or tools have you used to support service delivery?
  • Can you provide examples of how you prioritise tasks and manage your workload effectively while working independently and within your scope of practice?
  • Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
