Our model brings together peadiatricians, psychiatrists, and allied health professionals to provide comprehensive, collaborative care for young clients and their families.
We are seeking passionate and dedicated Allied Health Assistant to join our Norwest, Sydney clinic. The role entails working closely with children and adolescent clients who have neurodiverse conditions and developmental delays. You will collaborate with our team of psychologists, occupational therapists, and speech pathologists to deliver essential skills and strategies, guided by our specialist team of paediatricians and psychiatrists. By providing comprehensive therapy services in both community and clinical environments, you will enhance independence and improve the quality of life for these clients and their families. Additionally, you will work with families, educators, and children to deliver holistic, wrap-around care.
As a Allied Health Assistant at Nexia Healthcare, your key responsibilities include:
- Deliver Community-based Assessments and Intervention: Support in the delivery of assessments led by Allied Health professionals located within our Sydney and Melbourne clinics.
- Parent Partnership: Work with parents and caregivers or to identify emotional, social, or physical obstacles, and gain insight into family dynamics and the home environments.
- Collaboration and Coordination: Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including Early Childhood Education Specialists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists, Physiotherapists, and other Allied Health Assistants, to deliver an integrated approach tailored to each individual and their family's goals for independence in school, community, and home settings. Collaboration with childcare centres across Australia, designing early intervention programs dedicated to neurodiverse children. Engage in case conferences and team meetings to discuss progress and outcomes.
- Documentation: Deliver timely and accurate documentation of care, and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Evidence-Based Practice: Deliver evidence-based therapy interventions and strategies in clinic and in the community setting to foster independence and improved quality of life. Monitor and evaluate the child's progress through both formal and informal assessments.
- Compliance and Ethics: Maintain high standards of ethical practice, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and professional guidelines.

Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking motivated and empathetic Allied Health Assitant with:
- Proven experience working with children and adolescents, particularly in a mental health or neurodevelopmental context.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with diverse stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with a commitment to evidence-based practice
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment
- Comfortable and able to provide hybrid service, within the clinic and in clients homes or education environment
- Flexibility and adaptability to accommodate the changing needs of the individuals you support
- A passion for supporting families and caregivers throughout the diagnosis process.
Requirements:
- Currently engaging in tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy or Speech Pathology, with a strong background in paediatric interventions and care.
- Experience in a similar role or demonstrated ability to fulfil the responsibilities of this position.
- NDIS workers screening test, National Police Check, Working with Children Check (WWC).
- Right to Work in Australia (e.g., Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or Visa holder with full working rights).
