Responsibilities

Step into a leadership role as Clinical Coordinator at WSLHD, driving patient care, mentoring nursing teams, and optimising unit operations. We are seeking a creative, energetic Registered Nurse with critical thinking skills to support and coordinate clinical care in this acute care, general medical unit for older people. Key responsibilities will be to:

  • Lead and support a dynamic nursing team in acute care

  • Manage patient flow, access, and clinical care standards

  • Foster a positive, high-performing team culture

  • Collaborate across multidisciplinary and community services

  • Apply critical thinking to deliver safe, efficient patient care

This role suits someone with high-level general nursing skills, strong communication and negotiation skills. You will support a nursing team providing care to a diverse patient group with a broad range of clinical care needs in an environment where flexibility is key. The role has a strong focus on managing patient flow and access, supporting and developing the nursing team, and maintaining clinical care standards.

Essential Criteria
  • Registration: Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) (NSW Registered Nurse – Division 1)

Selection Criteria
  • Recent relevant management experience and/or postgraduate qualifications deemed appropriate by WSLHD.

  • Extensive recent post-registration clinical experience and knowledge of current relevant nursing issues

  • Proven leadership and management skills and demonstrated ability to coach, lead, manage and support a clinical team

  • Demonstrated knowledge in initiating and implementing changes to improve clinical service delivery and outcomes, models of care, evidence-based practice and practice development.

  • Evidence of and commitment to patient/client-focused care, clinical governance and quality improvement.

  • Demonstrated experience in written and verbal communication skills and computer literacy relevant health management systems.
