Overview

The primary role of the Director of Diverse Learning will be to support the mission and ethos of the College and the Touchstones of the Edmund Rice Charter through leadership of the Diverse Learning Faculty. The Director of Diverse Learning works collaboratively with wider teaching staff to develop programs and implement strategies that encourage a love of learning and guide the individual to achieve their full potential. The position works with students, teachers and families to ensure an optimal level of learning and support for students with additional learning needs. This role promotes and develops community understanding and acceptance of diverse education programs and practices by developing appropriate curriculum support and enrichment programs, ensuring appropriate pedagogies are developed and implemented at all levels, and ensuring the quality of student learning and the effectiveness of teacher practice through supervision. It also involves utilizing thorough analysis of current data to inform decisions and developing appropriate partnerships within and outside of the College. These directions align with the vision, mission and strategic plan of the College and with the touchstones embedded in the Charter for Catholic Schools in the Edmund Rice Tradition.

Responsibilities
  • Develop appropriate curriculum support and enrichment programs in line with national, state and College requirements.
  • Ensure that appropriate pedagogies are developed and implemented at all levels.
  • Ensure the quality of student learning and the effectiveness of teacher practice through appropriate supervision.
  • Utilise thorough analysis of current data to inform decisions; develop appropriate partnerships within and outside of the College.
