IGS Early Learners is a near new, purpose-built long day care centre and kindergarten service, catering for boys and girls from 6 weeks old to Pre-Prep. Operated by Ipswich Grammar School, the Centre offers exceptional care along with a range of specialist extra-curricular programs designed to enrich the children's experiences. Additionally, children have access to facilities like the Junior School Library and Sporting Facility for Bush Kindy activities. Through these opportunities, the Centre fosters a nurturing environment where children are supported in their growth and development, ensuring a well-rounded and enriching experience.

Due to the interstate re-location of our current ECT, we are seeking a suitably qualified Early Childhood Teacher to commence in January 2026. The successful candidate will lead the delivery and implementation of the educational program and care for our two-year Kindergarten program. This includes the day-to-day planning, preparation and operation of the classroom and encompasses providing direction and support to educators and staff. Additionally, to build and maintain warm, engaging and positive relationships with children, families and management to deliver excellent outcomes.

The ECT will be responsible to:

  • implement the successful planning, implementation and evaluation of the Kindergarten guidelines (QKLG);
  • ensure the early childhood program meets the goals of the EYLF to help children develop a strong sense of their identity, connections with their world, strong sense of wellbeing confidence and involvement in their learning and effective communication skills;
  • complete daily and weekly planning and objectives and assist with planning to meet these objectives;
  • have an understanding of relevant legislation, frameworks, IGS Early Learners' policies, procedures and guidelines to ensure the service meets all compliance obligations;
  • care for the physical and emotional needs of children at the centre, relevant to their age and development; and
  • undertake general tasks to contribute to the overall operation of the centre.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) or equivalent recognised qualification by ACECQA.

As a condition of employment, staff are required to hold a valid Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and are required to maintain their Blue Card for the duration of employment. In addition, hold a current First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Asthma and Anaphylaxis Qualification.
