As a key player in the Defence Industry, UGL plays a crucial role in supporting the Australian Defence Force across 100 locations nationwide. From operations and maintenance to asset management and fuel supply services, our team's expertise ensures we deliver effectively and sustainably.

As a result of expanding scope of works, we are currently seeking a Defence Fuel Installation Operator (DFI Operator) to join the team at Tindal RAAF base, Katherine NT.

This is a unique and exciting opportunity to work within a team of defence personnel while enjoying the benefits of working with a Tier 1 service provider.

Work as one team and perform the operations & maintenance of fuel to the RAAF and other Defence stakeholders on base.

The Role

Led by an Operations Supervisor, this role will be based at Tindal RAAF base, supporting multiple fuel installation sites in the region.

Defence Fuel Installations Operator (DFI Operator)
  • Report to the Operations Supervisor; responsible for operational and functional roles around the installation.
  • Ensure the safe and compliant operation and management of aviation and ground fuel installations.
  • Manage quality, compliance, quantity, and availability of fuel and related systems.
  • Maintain the technical integrity of the fuel, including quality control sampling and testing.
  • Experience in similar environments, such as fuel or other high-risk/hazardous processing environments, is highly regarded.
What you will Need

Along with relevant experience, you will be a strong team player, self-motivated, and dedicated.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Defence-specific training is advantageous but will be provided if required.
  • Valid Drivers Licence (HR or HC preferred).
  • Commitment to safety in all tasks.
  • Ability to obtain or hold appropriate Defence Security Clearance.
  • Willingness to live locally or relocate to the Townsville region.
