Role Overview

As a Housing and Property Officer, you will deliver high-quality tenancy and property management services across Community Housing Limited's Darwin portfolio. This is a practical, hands-on position focused on achieving positive outcomes for tenants, landlords, and service providers through effective property management and respectful tenant engagement. You will work as part of a local team supported by a larger interstate team, ensure compliance with legislative requirements, and foster tenancy sustainability and community wellbeing. The role requires strong communication skills and the ability to adapt quickly, from resolving maintenance issues to updating tenancy management systems with accuracy and efficiency. A proactive, solutions-focused approach and a can-do attitude are essential to success.

What You'll Do

You are a skilled and adaptable professional who thrives in diverse community settings. With strong problem-solving abilities, you balance the needs of tenants and landlords while ensuring compliance with the Residential Tenancies Act. You bring excellent communication and organisational skills, a commitment to cultural awareness, and the ability to build strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

What We're Looking For

To be successful, you will demonstrate:

  • Strong literacy, numeracy, and computer skills.
  • Experience working with Aboriginal people and those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act and tenancy management practices.
  • Ability to balance tenancy support with landlord property requirements.
  • Understanding of mandatory reporting requirements.
  • Current Driver's Licence.
  • Current Police Clearance and NT Working with Children Check.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.

Please note that a satisfactory police check is required for all staff and those with client related responsibilities are required to provide a NDIS and Working with Children Check (WWCC).
