We are seeking a highly skilled Chemist to join our laboratory services team in the Northern Territory.

This role involves coordinating resources for sampling and testing of in-process materials, environmental conditions, and utilities.

The successful candidate will operate, calibrate, and maintain advanced analytical instrumentation including Gas Chromatography, Inductively Coupled Plasma, Ion Chromatography, Auto Titrators, UV/Visible Spectrophotometers, and safely handle liquefied hydrocarbons, gases, cryogenic liquids, and hazardous aqueous samples.

  • Maintain comprehensive laboratory records, including calibration data, results, and maintenance logs in laboratory information systems.
  • Interpret process and instrument diagrams to configure sampling equipment safely and appropriately.
  • Perform LNG custody transfer analysis with precision and adherence to protocols.
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for GCMS, surface tension, and physical property analysis in support of foam, emulsion, and phase separation studies.
  • Develop cheminformatics procedures to support advanced chemical investigations and testing governance.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Tertiary qualifications in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline.

Proven experience working with gas and petrochemical products.

Strong competency with laboratory software and Microsoft Office applications.

A sound understanding of laboratory quality systems.

Exceptional attention to detail, safety awareness, and a methodical approach to problem-solving.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment.
