About the Role

Are you an early riser with a passion for precision, flavour, and creating memorable guest experiences? We're looking for a dependable and experienced chef to lead breakfast and function service across two vibrant venues—The Terrace Hotel and Hotel Alba.

This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in solo shifts, takes pride in their prep, and enjoys the rhythm of a well-run kitchen. You'll be instrumental in delivering consistent, high-quality service while helping shape the guest experience from the very first bite.

Key Accountabilities

As our Breakfast & Function Chef, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional culinary experiences across Hotel Alba and The Terrace Hotel. Your mornings will set the tone for our guests' day, and your attention to detail will ensure every function runs seamlessly.

Your day-to-day will include:

Leading the breakfast service at Hotel Alba
Own the morning kitchen operations—from prep lists and mise en place to stock rotation and ordering. You'll ensure everything runs like clockwork and meets our high standards.

Function & event catering
Bring flair and precision to our functions, overseeing setup, service, and pack-down with professionalism and care.

Team support & collaboration
Step in across other service periods when needed, and assist with rostering for breakfast shifts as directed by the Head Chef or Executive Chef.

Solo shift confidence
Thrive in independent shifts, maintaining consistency, quality, and pace while staying connected to the broader kitchen team.

Guest-first mindset
Anticipate guest needs and deliver prompt, thoughtful service that enhances their experience.

Recipe mastery & food quality
Know our menus inside out, follow standard recipes, and ensure every dish meets portion and presentation standards.

Kitchen excellence
Maintain impeccable cleanliness, food safety, and storage practices. You'll be a steward of our equipment and a champion of WH&S guidelines.

Professional presence
Uphold grooming standards and foster a positive, respectful relationship with your teammates.

Continuous contribution
Attend scheduled meetings, complete tasks on time, and be ready to take on additional duties as directed by the Head Chef or Executive Chef.
