Your role

A Communications Officer (Clerk Grade 7/8) within the NSW Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) plays a vital role in developing and implementing communication strategies and content to inform and engage stakeholders.

This role involves producing various multimedia communications, with a focus on video and photography. The role will build relationships and collaborate with key stakeholders to deliver effective and innovative campaigns.

In line with DCJ policy, staff are required to attend the office at least 50% of the time. However, please note that the nature of this role often involves attending events, conducting interviews, or creating content off-site, meaning frequent work outside the office environment.

What You'll Do

This role provides technical expertise and advice while also delivering a range of multimedia communication materials and projects. Undertaking research and analysis is involved to inform development of effective communication strategies. Project management for content production is an essential part of this role.

The Campaigns and Strategy team provides expert planning, advice and implementation of campaigns to promote and improve awareness about DCJ's programs and services in the community.

What We're Looking For

We're on the hunt for a standout video producer who's as strategic as they are creative.

You'll bring sharp storytelling instincts, hands-on production skills, and a knack for turning complex ideas into compelling visual content.

You thrive in fast-paced environments, juggle multiple projects with ease, and know how to engage diverse audiences across platforms. Collaboration is second nature—you'll work closely with stakeholders across government and community to craft videos that inform, inspire, and build trust.
