Randstad Senior Finance is partnering with a prestigious client, to recruit a technically capable and proactive Management Accountant for a 6-month contract (until the 5th December 2025). This opportunity sits within the Financial Planning, Partnering and Advisory (FPPA) team and will play a key role in supporting the recent transition to Workday – a transformative ERP system implementation for Finance and HR.

This role will suit a detail-oriented and hands-on accounting professional with experience in fixed assets and a passion for systems and process improvement.

About The Role

This position provides high-impact support across both fixed asset accounting and management accounting functions, ensuring the integrity of financial data and journal processing within Workday. You'll be the go-to person for supporting the Fixed Asset Accountant and wider finance partnering teams, while also contributing to data governance processes related to the University's new Foundation Data Model (FDM).

Key Responsibilities

Fixed Asset Support

• Assist with maintaining the Fixed Asset Register: acquisitions, disposals, transfers, and adjustments
• Investigate discrepancies and resolve fixed asset-related queries
• Support reconciliations and provide documentation for audits and reviews
  
  

Journal Processing & Financial Data Integrity

• Assess journal requests for compliance and accuracy in Workday
• Share expertise in journal functionality with cluster accountants and provide ad hoc training
• Drive resolution of financial data issues and proactively identify root causes
• Prepare corporate and divisional journal entries including balance date adjustments and internal transfers
  
  

FDM Governance

• Assist with reviewing and managing FDM change requests
• Provide guidance on Worktag definitions and ensure adherence to governance policies
• Support Finance Support & Advisory in maintaining accuracy of the University's financial data architecture
  
  

Stakeholder Engagement

• Partner with finance teams across faculties and business units to ensure seamless collaboration
• Liaise with service teams such as Business Services and Research Finance (RIC)
• Contribute to continuous improvement of finance systems and processes
  
  

About You

• CPA or CA qualified or equivalent
• Proven experience in financial or fixed asset accounting within a large, complex organisation
• Workday Finance experience is essential (must have)
• Highly proficient in Excel and financial data analysis
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced and evolving environment
• Excellent communicator with the ability to translate systems/process issues into actionable solutions
• Self-starter with a collaborative mindset and strong attention to detail
  
  

Desirable Skills

• Experience in higher education or public sector
• Exposure to Power BI, MicroStrategy or similar BI tools
• Involvement in process improvement or change projects
