Are you passionate about supporting vulnerable individuals and families to achieve housing stability and build better lives? We are seeking a committed and experienced Housing Officer to join our team and make a tangible impact through the delivery of high-quality tenancy and property management services.
As a Housing Officer, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive tenancy and property management services to tenants across our housing programs. This includes managing tenancies, maintaining accurate records, and supporting clients to sustain long-term housing outcomes. You will also play a key role in building strong relationships with tenants, service providers, and internal teams to support holistic and client-focused outcomes.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Conduct all the arrangements to lease vacant properties quickly and effectively
- Ensure all tenancy documentation is completed and maintained in line with organisational and regulatory requirements
- Educate tenants on their rights and responsibilities, promoting positive tenancy outcomes
- Conduct routine, exit and entry property inspections as required and completing required property reports
- Attend court/tribunal hearings where necessary to represent the interest of the organisation
- Respond to tenant feedback, informal complaints, and appeals constructively and promptly to support service improvement
- Maintain positive relationships with external and internal stakeholders
- Actively contribute to developing and implementing strategies that connect tenants to additional support
Requirements for Success
- Previously demonstrated experience working with vulnerable client groups
- Community housing experience or property management experience desirable
- Knowledge of the Residential Tenancy Act and NCAT process would be preferred
- Strong experience with Microsoft Office products for reporting
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, client-focused environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Driving Licence
