Comprehensive salary package from $68,864 pa (plus superannuation)
Required Skills and Experience :
- At least an AQF certificate II or III in Agriculture (or equivalent)
- At least one (1) year of recent and relevant work experience
Position Summary :
On behalf of our client, Global Skilled Employment Services is looking for a skilled and experienced Dairy Cattle Farm Operator who can perform tasks such as milking, attending to livestock, haymaking, and fencing. The role involves applying knowledge and skills to multiple operations with basic problem solving and decision-making, with an understanding of overall dairy farm processes.
This is a full-time position which may involve weekend or public holiday work and some unplanned hours, paid accordingly.
Duties and responsibilities :
- Operate milking plant and equipment;
- Identify and report equipment not operating normally;
- Work cooperatively as part of a team;
- Read and record instrument information, e.g., Milk vat temperatures and cow numbers;
- Understand principles of safe working;
- Undertake multiple functions to produce quality outcomes, e.g., farm machinery operation;
- Maintain machinery, undertake adjustments, and size changes;
- Solve problems and make decisions within guidelines;
- Assist with processes such as machine repair, artificial insemination, and fertiliser mix design using general scientific terminology;
- Operate standard measuring equipment;
- Operate computerised systems using menu options;
- Contribute to team efforts and support other team members;
- Work independently when required.
