Role: CNC Plasma Operator – ($35-$40 / hr, Permanent)

What the role involves

Join a leading fabrication team at Morton Engineering, operating our brand-new Farley TruEdge 4 CNC Plasma Machine. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with hands-on experience in manufacturing or steel fabrication to step into a role with cutting-edge equipment and great team culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate the Farley TruEdge 4 CNC Plasma Machine (Hypertherm XPR 300A)
  • Load and unload materials on 12.6m x 3.2m cutting table
  • Read and interpret workshop drawings
  • Participate in production line duties
  • Complete production paperwork and QA records
  • Operate forklifts and overhead cranes
  • Conduct routine stock takes and workshop tasks
  • Use hand and power tools effectively
  • Support routine maintenance and basic care of the plasma machine
What We're Looking For
  • Experienced in CNC Plasma operation
  • Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious
  • Physically fit and capable of manual handling
  • Understanding of quality control processes
  • Forklift license
  • Dogman Ticket or Willingness to undergo training
  • Willingness to learn and operate new machinery
  • Proactive attitude toward equipment care and housekeeping
About the Machine

You'll be working with one of the most advanced CNC plasma systems available:

  • Plasma cuts up to 50mm thickness (mild steel, stainless, aluminium, Q&T plate)
  • Bevel cutting with multi-axis head
  • Drilling to 100mm & tapping to M24
  • ±0.3mm accuracy for high precision work
