Technical Analyst – ERP, Inventory & Reconciliation

12 month daily rate contract | Melbourne-hybrid | Retail Sector

A leading retail organisation is seeking a Technical Analyst. This role is key in supporting inventory management, reconciliations, and ERP processes across stores and warehouses.

You'll help maintain inventory accuracy, resolve transactional discrepancies, and support end-of-period accounting processes, allowing other team members to focus on the implementation of a new ERP system.

What you'll be doing
  • Manage inventory processes including transfer orders and stock movements.
  • Perform reconciliations with financial systems to ensure accuracy.
  • Identify and resolve inventory and transactional discrepancies, including root cause analysis.
  • Support end-of-period accounting processes, assisting functional/accounting teams.
  • Collaborate with IT, warehouse, stores, and finance to maintain ERP system integrity.
  • Conduct SQL-based data analysis and validation to support issue resolution.
  • Document processes and contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
What you'll bring
  • Background in accounting, finance, or a closely related discipline.
  • Strong ERP knowledge, ideally with retail or warehouse experience.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data analysis, reconciliation, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with inventory management, transfer orders, and reconciliations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, analytical mindset, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across technical and operational teams.
