Hedland Senior High School (SHS), located in the Pilbara, is an Independent Public-School catering for students from Year 7 to Year 12. The RoleTeachers in the Hedland SHS Health and Physical Education team are focused on creating outstanding outcomes for students and empowering every learner. We are a collaborative, supportive and close-knit team in a way that only a high-quality regional school can be. Our practice is data-driven to ensure improvement for our students.
The successful applicant will strive for excellence in Health and Physical Education teaching and demonstrate a desire to deliver a range of courses across Year 7-12. A Certificate IV in Training and Assessing and Outdoor Education qualifications is highly regarded. We aim to empower young people from diverse backgrounds so all students can be successful. High quality expectation relationships and collaborative practice is a key asset to our team's success. Teachers and School Administrators employed at Hedland Senior High School in 2025 are eligible to receive a temporary Attraction and Retention Incentive of $4 677 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.

EligibilityTo work with us, you must:
- hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration.
- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment. More information about employment eligibility can be found on our website.
- apply for a WA Working with Children Check before you start; and
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start.
