Overview

Defence Housing Australia is seeking the next People Relations Manager. The role sits in the HR Operations Team and has carriage of case management, workplace relations, wellbeing and HR policy. The right person will have a sound understanding of traditional and contemporary HR practices and be committed to providing best‑practice people‑focused solutions for an amazing organisation. You will have autonomy in your role and be motivated to drive innovation across the HR service offering.

About the role

The People Relations Manager leads a small team to deliver responsive employee relations services and initiatives that contribute to a healthy and high‑performing workplace. This role is accountable for the uplift, maintenance and governance of employee relations and workplace wellbeing frameworks, ensuring a proactive approach to risk management in alignment with contemporary practices. The position operates with a high degree of autonomy and in close partnership with stakeholders across DHA.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a small team of professionals to deliver employee relations services and initiatives.
  • Uplift, maintain and govern employee relations and workplace wellbeing frameworks.
  • Proactively manage risk in alignment with contemporary HR practices.
  • Partner with stakeholders across DHA to deliver HR service outcomes.
Qualifications
  • Sound understanding of traditional and contemporary HR practices.
  • Ability to provide practical, people‑focused HR solutions.
  • Ability to work autonomously and drive innovation in HR services.

  • Level: EL 1
  • Salary Range: $122,963 to $150,065 per annum plus 15.4% superannuation
  • Location: Head Office – Gungahlin or Adelaide
