
Transcription Administration Officer

The position of HIS Transcription Administration Officer will be to provide a high level, efficient, accurate and professional medical transcription and administrative service.
About The RoleProvide efficient support to Health Information Services (HIS) Transcription, which includes:
- Accurately performing quality assurance using appropriate databases to source additional mandatory information.
- Printing and distribution of patient correspondence in a timely manner. The workflow for this correspondence may vary depending on method of generation (Self-typing, Text-to-Talk/Speech Recognition or AI).
- Update relevant databases to maintain information accuracy and integrity.
- Update notifications of Child Safety involvement and liaise with or advise Health Information Access.
- Monitor Transcription email account and action accordingly.
- Distribute completed letters to correct folders for upload to ieMR.
- Operate with a high level of autonomy and efficiency, meeting established deadlines and setting priorities, whilst producing and delivering medical correspondence for the public Outpatient Departments.
- Demonstrate high level keyboard and organisational skills coupled with an ability to manage a heavy workload with variable priorities.
- Communicate effectively with medical officers and other clinicians within CHQ HHS to ensure accuracy and timeliness in the delivery of the Transcription service. This will require a high level of communication and interpersonal skills.
- Maintain a high degree of integrity, tact and confidentiality in written and verbal interactions with all levels of staff.
- Demonstrate proficiency, or an ability to rapidly acquire proficiency, in a range of Queensland Health information and communication systems and applications including HBCIS, ieMR, DragonMedical Workflow Manager, and relevant Microsoft 365 applications.
- Participate in mentoring other staff when required.
- Assume general administrative responsibilities as required to contribute to the daily operations of the Transcription Service.
- Actively participate in relevant departmental meetings.
- Other administrative duties as delegated by the Manager, Medical Records or Transcription Supervisor.
