About the role

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) Paediatric Mental Health to join our Paediatric Unit at the North West Regional Hospital.

The successful candidate will collaborate with the Nurse Unit Manager, Paediatric Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, and other senior staff to ensure the efficient and effective provision of care during their shift, based on best practice principles within a multidisciplinary framework.

About the department

The Clinical Nurse Specialist - Mental Health Acute Paediatric Unit, will be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering person-centred, recovery-oriented, and trauma-informed care, aligned with the National Standards for Mental Health Services, agency policies, legal requirements, and professional competencies.

What's on offer

Permanent, full-time, day shift position, working 76 hours per fortnight, starting as soon as possible. Hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant.

  • Note: The selection process may be used to fill similar vacancies for up to twelve months from the publication date.

Salary: $106,570 - $112,440 per annum, plus a 12% superannuation contribution.

  • Salary in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023.

Benefits include salary packaging options, with living expenses up to $9,010, $2,650 in meal entertainment, and other benefits if eligible.

Eligibility

Applicants must meet the following essential criteria:

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
  • Current Working with Children Registration.

Desirable criteria include:

  • Holding or working towards relevant postgraduate qualifications.
  • Previous leadership experience.

The appointment is subject to pre-employment checks including conviction checks (violence, sex offences, serious drug offences, dishonesty), identification, and disciplinary history.
