Forest is our restaurant set overlooking a lush, tropical rainforest. The menu reflects our unique sense of place, with over 80% of our ingredients sourced within a three-hour drive. We believe that food is best enjoyed slowly and to share, with a bottle of locally sourced wine or vibrant cocktail in hand.

THE ROLE:

With a passion for local produce and flair for extraordinary dishes, you are eager to be part of something innovative and creative in Byron. You will:

  • Drive guest satisfaction in service and take great pride in the delivery of incredible flavours and food experiences
  • Foster a culture of innovation and breaking the norm
  • Provide hands-on support to junior members of the kitchen staff
  • Collaborate closely with the F&B Service team and all departments of the hotel
  • Promote and be accountable for WH&S in our sparkling kitchens
  • Articulate ideas the creation of seasonal and promotional menus
  • Support the effective procurement, production, preparation and presentation of all food

ABOUT YOU:

You will be enthusiastic and have technical experience from working in a high-functioning kitchen environment, as well as holding a trade qualification relevant to your position.

  • A technical talent and experience with modern cuisine at CDP level
  • A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
  • Demonstrated experience in a contemporary dining setting
  • Sound knowledge of WH&S legislation and Health regulations
  • Super cool nature under pressure
  • High attention to detail and well organised
  • Ability to work across a 7-day roster
  • A career ambition to continued personal and professional growth
