About Our School

St Mary's Primary School is situated in Ipswich, 45 km from Brisbane CBD. The school has a long history and a current enrolment of 575 students from Prep through to Year 6. The dedicated teaching and support staff provide high quality, inclusive education with engaging activities that support both academic progress and personal growth within a Catholic Christian tradition.

About The Opportunity
  • Contribute to the evaluation of speech pathology resource needs and prioritisation of services within the school to optimise quality-service outcomes.
  • Collaborate with school, BCE and external personnel to evaluate student communication and learning needs using standardised and non-standardised assessment measures.
  • Work with classroom teachers to prioritise communication and learning goals.
  • Implement evidence-based, data-informed interventions to enhance student communication, learning, and wellbeing; provide advice and reports to parents and educators.
  • Collaborate and contribute to the professional development of staff and provide opportunities for parent education.
About You
  • Experience with standardised and non-standardised assessment tools to evaluate student communication and learning needs.
  • Proven ability to design and implement data-informed, evidence-based interventions that improve student outcomes.
  • Experience working with teachers to set and prioritise communication and learning goals.
  • Strong skills in providing clear, actionable reports and feedback to parents and educators on student progress.
  • Experience in leading or contributing to staff training and providing educational opportunities for parents on speech pathology topics.
  • Tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology (minimum Bachelor's degree) plus eligibility for Certified Practising membership with Speech Pathology Australia.
  • For this position you are not required to be Catholic.

  • Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.
  • Hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement.
