Looking to take the next step in your career? Hatch is currently seeking a highly motivated Construction Specialist to join our Project Delivery Group (PDG) group in Perth to support a range of projects.

The Construction Specialist working from the Perth (or Project) office shall support FEL2-Pre-feasibility, FEL3-feasibility and FEL4-execution phase(s) is responsible for contributing to the overall planning, direction, organization, and execution of all construction or maintenance work, to the highest safety and quality levels within time and costs constraints, for their area of responsibility. The Construction Specialist is contributes to the development of the construction strategies and execution schedule. The Construction Specialist participates in the design development of a construction project from concept to detail and oversees the organizational plans, detailed schedule development and implementation strategies.

As the successful candidate you will:

  • Contributes to the constructability process, development and review of construction related documentation, manuals, plans, policies and procedures;
  • Provide construction technical support to other project functions as needed.
  • Ensure Construction Work Package (CWP) program is integrated into the execution planning and are defined to a sufficient level for the project phase
  • Maintain a high level of customer service with Client representatives.
  • Contribute to the development of construction requirements for pre-assembly and/or modularisation
  • Contribute to the development of site organization and staffing requirements and Plant and Equipment profiles, required to execute construction activities within project schedule and acceptable costs
  • Contribute to ongoing maintenance of capital estimates, schedule and design as they pertain to construction.
  • Be willing to travel to and work on site where necessary.

You will bring to this role:

  • Demonstrated health and safety management focus in the all phases of project delivery, and extensive knowledge of health and safety management procedures, safe work practices, and applicable legislation.
  • General knowledge of construction, engineering, procurement, contracts, scheduling and
  • Tertiary Qualifications in Engineering or Construction, with 7+ years construction management experience in heavy or industrial construction
  • The ability to motivate and lead a discipline focused teams and fit into a team environment.
  • Effective communication, report writing skills, planning, organizational and oral skills
  • Able to communicate directly with the client on key issues.
  • Knowledge of the EPCM model of project delivery including the activities, interfaces and interdependencies of all project disciplines (engineering, procurement, construction management, and other project related disciplines)
