What You'll Be Doing

The Spinal Dysraphism (SD) Project Officer will support and strengthen multidisciplinary team (MDT) functioning by implementing quality improvement initiatives aimed at improving outcomes for children and families. Working closely with the SD Medical Lead and MDT team. The role will focus on enhancing systems, streamlining processes, and developing resources to support effective care delivery.

The SD service provides inpatient and outpatient consultative multidisciplinary team assessments and reviews for children diagnosed with spinal dysraphism.

The team comprises specialists from various disciplines, including Rehabilitation, Urology, Orthopaedics, Neurology, Nursing, and Allied Health

Given the complexity of the condition, the involvement of multiple services adds to the intricacies of clinic coordination

The service ensures that children and their families receive consistent, well-coordinated care across all settings, promoting equitable access to specialised paediatric rehabilitation and supporting optimal health outcomes.

The PO will work closely with the Rehab2Kids SD Medical Lead and Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) to review and implement quality improvement initiatives informed by recent project outcomes. Additionally, they will focus on enhancing systems and processes and developing resources to support effective care delivery.

About You

  • Strong engagement and experience in quality improvement initiatives, including methodology, project design, implementation, and evaluation, particularly within health-related settings.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate, consult and negotiate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience within the health system, including provision of paediatric healthcare services.
