We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Administration Officer to join our Consulting Room Suites team at Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital.
In this pivotal role, you will deliver high-quality administrative and patient support, ensuring a seamless and professional experience for patients, visitors, and clinicians.
About The Role
As an Administration Officer, you will be a key point of contact for patients and their families while contributing to the effective coordination of our Consulting Room Suites.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Welcoming patients and visitors, and managing reception, phone, and email enquiries.
- Confirming health fund coverage and preparing self-funding quotes.
- Coordinating patient admissions, including ambulance check-ins.
- Processing payments, including cash handling and EFTPOS transactions.
- Completing accurate data entry to maintain up-to-date patient records.
- Providing administrative support to clinical and non-clinical teams.
You will bring professionalism, empathy, and strong administrative capabilities, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced hospital environment.
In addition, you will demonstrate:
- Previous experience in hospital, medical reception, or health fund administration (desirable).
- Knowledge of Meditech and/or Gentu systems (highly desirable).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with accurate data entry and keyboard skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational ability.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both in person and over the phone.
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a supportive team.
- Experience in health fund billing (highly desirable).
Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital offers world-class facilities including nine operating theatres, two cardiac catheter laboratories, a day surgery unit, an intensive care/coronary care unit, and a day therapy unit.
