Working across our three Australian resorts, this role offers the flexibility to be based onsite at one of our beautiful resorts or to work hybrid if preferred. Reporting to the Senior Director Human Resources for Europe & Australia, this key role will lead and shape the HR function across our Australian Resorts. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in advancing business priorities, enhancing the employee experience, and driving operational excellence in one of the most exciting and seasonal industries.
ResponsibilitiesIn a typical day in this role you might:
- Lead and develop our HR teams across our Australian resorts.
- Build and deliver HR and talent strategy that drives employee engagement, professional growth, and business success.
- Partner with business and functional leaders as a trusted advisor to grow talents, drive business goals and optimise structures.
- Cultivate strong working relationships with leaders and employees across all three Australian resorts and corporate Vail Resorts for the success of transformation efforts, including change management, organisational design and capability development.
- Oversee talent acquisition, performance management, learning & development, on/offboarding, employee relations, workforce planning, payroll & administration, HR service delivery in compliance with Australian legislation and Enterprise Agreements.
- Ensure HR compliance, drive government and industrial relations, and represent HR in collective bargaining.
- Strengthen stakeholder engagement by proactively building relationships with external partners, industry bodies, and regulatory organisations.
- Lead the enhancement of digital HR capabilities by driving adoption of enterprise HR technologies.
- Collaborate with enterprise HR Centres of Excellence (COE) on systems, processes, and organisational and corporate initiatives.
- Champion our culture and values, while honouring the unique character of our Australian operations.
To be considered for this role, you should have:
- A degree in HR, business, or a related field is preferred. However, we welcome candidates with equivalent professional experience who can demonstrate relevant capabilities.
- 5+ years of relevant experience leading HR functions or business service operations team.
- 3+ years of leadership and management experience in a large organisation.
- Experience in employee and industrial relations, ideally including enterprise bargaining (desirable).
- Excellent communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills.
- Proven ability to lead change, improve processes, and drive team engagement.
- Knowledge of seasonal industries (desirable).
