Biospecimen Laboratory Manager

As the Biospecimen Laboratory Manager, you will be responsible for providing high level technical and operational support to ensure the effective operation of the NSW Regional Biospecimen Services laboratory.
This role holds a central position within the Biospecimen Laboratory team, and your influence will resonate throughout all facets of the team's operations. As the manager, you will have the opportunity to establish the laboratory's ethos, and have significant influence over its day-to-day operations.
In this role you will:
- Coordinate the day-to-day biospecimen technical support services across Callaghan and HMRI based programs.
- Ensure quality control of laboratory setups with stringent adherence to protocols.
- Provide specialist advice and general assistance to staff and students in relation to current biospecimen best practice.
- Provide direct operational support to the blood processing and biobanking teams.
This 12-month fixed term position is full time and will be located at the Hunter Medical Research Institute (Awabakal and Worimi land). There is a possibility for extension with this role.
