Laboratory Specialist

The Laboratory Specialist role involves conducting complex laboratory testing and analysis to support quality, operational, and food safety teams.
Key responsibilities include performing routine quantitative and qualitative inspections and laboratory tests on raw materials, in-process, and final products independently and supporting more complex trials and experiments under intermediate supervision.
The Laboratory Specialist will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulations and other procedural food safety protocols, interpreting and documenting results of tests, running calibration checks, preventive maintenance tasks, and simple repairs to analytical instrumentation.
Additionally, the Laboratory Specialist will assist in developing a culture of food and feed safety, quality, and regulatory excellence and collaborate cross-functionally to build, maintain, and improve an effective food safety, quality, and regulatory culture.
Required Skills and Qualifications- TAFE qualification or relevant experience in agriculture, food science, chemistry, or related discipline.
- Experience in a laboratory setting, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting with laboratory instruments.
- Analytical and detailed skills, ability to read and interpret documents (safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals).
- Ability to quickly respond to and resolve issues, connect with people at various levels within the organization, good time management skills, high adaptability and capacity for change.
