Remote is seeking an Expert Product Manager to join the team in Home Affairs. The Expert Product Manager will have a deep understanding of customers' and will be responsible for ensuring that the product meets needs and expectations. The Expert Product Manager will need to navigate complex stakeholder relationships, comply with regulations and laws, and work in a transparent and accountable environment. The role will be concerned with the product's long-term success and viability, and will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the product meets both customer needs and business goals. It calls for creativity and resourcefulness in modernising and innovating legacy systems. The role sits within the Product Delivery Directorate which is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering high-quality Products that meet customer needs. (RFI 31-2526)

Role Description

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive product vision and strategy that aligns with business goals and customer needs.
  • Lead multiple teams to define and deliver product features and priorities.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders to define product direction and resource allocation.
  • Work with development teams to ensure that product requirements are properly understood and implemented.
  • Monitor product performance and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Identify and prioritise opportunities for product innovation and growth.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Professional certification in Product Management or aligned roles. For example: Certified Product Manager (CPM) by AIPMM or Product Manager Certification (PMC) by Product School or Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO 1)

Required Knowledge/Experience and tools

  • 3+ years of relevant Product Management experience
  • Ability to create product roadmaps, define product vision, and align product strategy with business goals and customer needs
  • Ability to effectively prioritise tasks and features based on value and impact
  • Ability to manage and prioritise the product backlog effectively
  • Demonstrated understanding of the technical aspects of product development, including software development, software architecture and infrastructure

Highly Desirable:

  • Proficiency in working with a range of Product Management tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence, or similar for product planning and collaboration)
  • Familiarity with government processes, policies, and regulatory requirements.
