Position Overview

As the Transport Depot Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring smooth, efficient, and safe operations at our depot. You will oversee the coordination of transport activities, manage a team of drivers and depot staff, and ensure that all transport operations run according to plan. Strong people management skills are essential in this role, as you will be responsible for creating a positive, productive, and collaborative work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, manage, and motivate a diverse team of drivers, warehouse staff, and operational employees.
  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
  • Oversee and provide guidance on day-to-day operations including route planning, dispatch, and vehicle maintenance schedules, customer service.
  • Monitor and optimise operational performance to meet key performance indicators (KPI's) Specifically - Safety, Communications, Staff Management, Depot's Operational and cost Efficiency and Gross Profit Margin.
  • Maintain high standards of customer service and address any customer concerns efficiently.
  • Foster a team culture that prioritises communication, support, and development.
  • Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback to team members, encouraging continuous improvement.
  • Handle staffing, scheduling, and resolving any workforce-related issues.
  • Collaborate with senior management to improve depot processes and contribute to the development of operational strategies.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of operations, safety, and financial data.
Key Requirements
  • 5 years proven experience as a Depot Manager or in similar role managing transport and storage of fresh produce and frozen products.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Excellent people management skills, with experience in conflict resolution, coaching, and team development.
  • Strong knowledge of transport and logistics operations, including route planning, vehicle maintenance, and regulatory compliance.
  • Outstanding organisational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with customers, team members, and senior management.
  • Proficiency in depot management software and Microsoft Office suite.
Roster

Monday to Friday - 6.30am to 5.00pm

Remuneration

Salary package will be commensurate with experience and qualifications, the package will include a fully maintained company vehicle.
