Base pay range

A$105,618.00/yr - A$123,200.00/yr

Infrastructure Planning and Land Services (IPLS) provides specialist expertise in rail planning, engineering, freight management, land and environmental management to support the PTA's long-term transport vision. About the role

We're seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional to join the Public Transport Authority (PTA), supporting third-party rollingstock access on the urban rail network. This key role focuses on administering and monitoring track access agreements, ensuring legislative compliance, and maintaining strong communication with external rail operators.

You will be responsible for managing scheduled and special train path approvals, coordinating access-related financial processes, and advising stakeholders on contractual obligations. Strong analytical and administrative skills are essential to evaluate performance, manage risks, and contribute to tariff development, costing principles, and compliance audits in line with regulatory requirements.

Our ideal candidate brings proven contract management experience and a sound understanding of rail operations or infrastructure. Strong communication and problem-solving skills, along with a keen eye for detail, will support the delivery of high-quality outcomes and continuous improvement in access management. About You

To excel in this role, you should possess:

• Relevant technical diploma or commensurate experience.
• Knowledge of rail legislation relevant to the responsibilities of the position, particularly as it relates to the rollingstock track access and project administration.
• Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience of government contracting, and procurement policies and procedures.
• Demonstrated administrative, accounting and financial management skills and experience.
• Build and maintain rapport with internal and external stakeholders by providing relevant specialist advice and effectively negotiating and resolving issues.
• The ability to effectively utilise a variety of PC applications, geographical information systems and database applications.

There is currently one fixed term opportunity available to 30 March 2029, with the possibility of renewal and/or permanency. Applicants assessed as suitable through this process may be used to fill similar vacancies on a fixed term or permanent basis that may arise within the next 12 months.

To be eligible to work at the PTA you must be either an Australian Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident or hold a valid work visa until 30/03/2029.
