Join the team redefining how the world experiences design.
Hey, hello, hiya, g'day, mabuhay, kia ora, 你好, hallo, vítejte
Thanks for stopping by. We know job hunting can be a little time consuming and you're probably keen to find out what's on offer, so we'll get straight to the point.
Where and how you can work
Our flagship campus is in Sydney. We also have a campus in Melbourne and co-working spaces in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. But you have choice in where and how you work. That means if you want to do your thing in the office (if you're near one), at home or a bit of both, it's up to you.
What you'd be doing in this role
As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.
At the moment, this role is focused on:
As Community Marketing Lead at Pixabay, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of one of the world's most loved free content communities. You'll lead our global creator engagement efforts—fostering a thriving, inclusive, and purpose-driven space for contributors to grow, connect, and create. This role sits at the intersection of community, content, and light-touch marketing—blending strategy and execution to elevate creator experiences, support contributor success, and fuel Canva's global content ecosystem.
You'll work closely with community managers, content curators, and cross-functional partners in product, design, and marketing to deliver programs that grow participation, spark inspiration, and unlock high-quality, culturally relevant content for everyone, everywhere.
Community Strategy & Leadership
In partnership with the Triad (GEL + Product + Ops Lead), you will help build the company vision and strategy to get Pixabay there. Manage the internal communication of that strategy with all other Pixabay (and Pexels) leads, and work with Canva to ensure it's aligned with their goals too.
Develop and implement a global community strategy aligned with company goals and brand values.
Lead and mentor a fully-remote team of Community Managers, setting goals, guiding execution, and supporting skill growth.
Establish and maintain scalable systems and processes for community programming, reporting, budgeting and knowledge sharing.
Program Management & Member Engagement
Support the company and products strategy, and bring it to life through community and marketing activations. Building a brand that is exciting for consumers and contributors. Oversee the SEO strategy to drive more traffic to Pixabay (and Pexels) continuously.
Oversee the planning and execution of recurring and seasonal community programs, including creative challenges, campaigns, and in-person/virtual events.
Ensure community initiatives foster meaningful participation, retention, and high-quality contributions from members.
Identify and support regional needs, cultural nuances, and platform-specific opportunities across diverse audiences.
Oversee Marketing efforts to build and execute promotional strategies (email, social, blog) for community activities.
Support in the recruitment, onboarding, and managing of a network of community ambassadors and local leaders to scale reach and engagement.
Build long-term relationships with top contributors, creators, and partners to champion community culture and user-generated content.
Cross-functional Collaboration
Translate the company strategy into actionable projects and product features that bring it to life. Collaborate with the engineering lead to build systems to plan, execute, optimise, and deliver value through products to our contributors and consumers.
Partner closely with Engineering, Ops, Product, and Support teams to amplify community-led initiatives and integrate community voices across the business.
Collaborate with Data & Insights teams to analyse engagement trends, program success, and opportunities for growth.
Responsibilities:
Pixabay is more than a content platform - it's a global creative community. As Marketing, Content and Community Lead, you'll ensure that creators not only contribute, but feel connected, empowered, and proud to be part of something bigger. Your work will help bring diverse, high-quality, and Truly Local content into Canva - supporting our mission to empower the world to design.
You will:
Drive the vision and implementation of global community strategy.
Lead, mentor, and scale a global team of Community Managers.
Launch innovative community-led initiatives that excite and inspire contributors.
Partner cross-functionally to ensure alignment and amplify community voices.
Build long-lasting creator relationships and ambassador networks.
Represent community goals internally and externally.
You're probably a match if
We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and passionate Community Marketing Lead to oversee our global community initiatives. This role will be responsible for managing a team of regional and thematic Community Managers, setting the vision and direction for community engagement, and leading integrated programming, including member challenges, partnerships, and cross-channel marketing campaigns. The ideal candidate brings a balance of high-level strategy and operational excellence, thriving in a collaborative environment.
5+ years of experience in community management, program strategy, or marketing, with 2+ years in a leadership or managerial role.
Proven experience managing and scaling a team across regions or time zones.
Strong program management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple initiatives and prioritise effectively.
Deep understanding of online and offline community building, social media, and digital marketing channels.
Excellent communication and people skills, with a passion for collaboration and storytelling.
Experience working with creators, contributors, or platform-based communities is a plus.
Familiarity with analytics tools and using data to guide decisions and measure impact.
