As the Senior Risk and Change Specialist, you will play a vital role in developing and embedding a proactive, safety-by-design approach to risk and change management across Jetstar operations. You will collaborate with senior leaders, project managers, and technical specialists across various business units to ensure operational changes are implemented safely, effectively, and in compliance with regulatory requirements and Jetstar's Safety Management System.
You will work with stakeholders including senior leaders, project teams, subject matter experts, and cross-functional groups to evaluate, assess, and implement risk controls, ensuring safe change deployment. This involves applying knowledge of human factors and socio-technical systems to anticipate and manage impacts across people, processes, and technology in a dynamic operational environment. Your engagement will support a strong safety culture, fostering informed risk ownership and behavioral shifts towards safe operational practices.
Key skills and qualifications include:
- Qualifications in safety management, risk, human factors, or related fields (highly desirable)
- 4+ years' experience in risk and change management within aviation or high-reliability industries such as mining, oil & gas, or rail
- Proven ability to lead complex change and risk programs with a solid understanding of safety management systems
- Strong interpersonal skills, including networking, negotiation, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to manage and interpret data, and proficiency with business intelligence reporting systems
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills for communicating complex concepts clearly
- Negotiation, persuasion, and influencing skills
- Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with high attention to detail
