Regulatory Change Specialist

This is a pivotal role that involves overseeing the identification, assessment, planning, and implementation of regulatory changes. It also involves proactively monitoring developments in the industry and interpreting their impact on the business.
The successful candidate will have experience in regulatory change, compliance, legal, or risk within the industry. They will have a strong understanding of Australian energy regulations and be able to assess regulatory impact and prioritise compliance actions.
Key Responsibilities:- Stay informed about new and changing legislation, government policy positions, and industry trends.
- Provide early intelligence and insights on proposed changes to influence internal planning.
- Work closely with the Regulatory Affairs team to ensure business and advocacy positions align.
- Conduct end-to-end assessments of regulatory impacts including risks, opportunities, and process or system changes required.
- Translate regulatory obligations into actionable operational and procedural guidance tailored for different business units.
- Develop high-quality reports and visual presentations for senior stakeholders to support decision-making.
- 5+ years' experience in regulatory change, compliance, legal, or risk within the industry.
- Strong understanding of Australian energy regulations and regulatory bodies.
- Excellent analytical skills, with ability to assess regulatory impact and prioritise compliance actions.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with confidence presenting to senior executives.
- Proven experience influencing business leaders and managing competing priorities.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks, risk management processes, and control design.
