We are currently seeking a Manager – Pavements, ANZ provides leadership and operational direction to the activities of the Pavements technical capability in collaboration with the other sector leaders and in consideration of the wider SMEC business. This is a national role and the role can be based out of SMEC offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth or Adelaide.
This position drives the operations, technical excellence and delivery performance of the Pavements capability at SMEC, with the effect of growing the SMEC Infrastructure function through optimal people, commercial, business development, client relationship management and project performance.
- Provide operational, technical and business development direction for the Pavements capability to support SMEC's vision and values.
- Ensure capability development and mobilization of the Pavements capability nationally.
- Manage national client relationships.
The incumbent will role model SMEC values, ethics and code of conduct and ensure all business activities are carried out in accordance with these guiding principles.
YouRoleThe successful candidate will typically have 20+ years' industry experience, recognised as an authority in the transport infrastructure design market and would have undertaken Manager / Lead roles in similar engineering consulting organisations, demonstrating the ability to consistently:
- Manage multi-disciplinary projects successfully, to budget and client specifications
- Build trusting and productive client relationships
- Produce tender/proposal documents of an excellent standard and in a timely manner
- Manage a team effectively for performance and cohesion
- Recognised as a local authority in the sector
