About CAA

The Council of Ambulance Authorities (CAA) is the peak body for statutory ambulance services across Australasia. It brings members together to share knowledge, set common positions and progress initiatives that improve patient care, workforce capability and sector performance.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the CAA Board through the Chair, the Chief Executive provides strategic leadership of the Secretariat team and represents the collective interests of member services. You will take a lead role in national, Australasian and international initiatives, developing policy that highlights the contribution ambulance services make to the health and welfare of communities.

You'll play a key role in leading initiatives that strengthen the sector in primary care and patient safety, by convening collaborative processes with Australian, New Zealand and Papua New Guinean health portfolios. You'll also enhance relationships with international emergency and primary care agencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Represent members with a coherent voice on national and international issues; advise the Board on high-level policy.
  • Drive strategy and business plans; ensure excellent governance, financial stewardship and legislative compliance.
  • Build sector programs: data/insights, practice sharing and collaborative projects that improve patient care.
  • Cultivate partnerships across governments, related bodies and international agencies; strengthen member value.
About You

You are an influential peak-body or system leader who:

  • Shapes and manages strategy in complex health environments; anticipates risk and delivers results.
  • Builds trusted relationships across jurisdictions and stakeholders; communicates with clarity and impact.
  • Models integrity, good governance and inclusive leadership; lifts capability in small, mission-driven teams.

If you're passionate about translating purpose into patient outcomes at scale, we'd love to hear from you.

This role is based in Adelaide but can be conducted completely remotely from anywhere in Australia.
