Overview

Team Leader - In Home Support (South) Hybrid | Carrum Downs | Full-time, Permanent. MiCare is a not-for-profit organisation delivering aged care, home care, retirement living and migrant support services with a focus on culturally appropriate care and community connection.

Your new career at MiCare starts here as the Team Leader - In Home Support. You will be responsible and accountable for the leadership, delivery and continuous improvement of high-quality in-home services for all Home Care Packages (HCP) and Commonwealth, Home Support Program (CHSP), with some Veteran Home Care (VHC) funded services. This role is based in the South, with oversight of the Gippsland area also. Reporting to the Manager, In Home Support, this role ensures elders receive care that is responsive to their needs, culturally appropriate, and aligned with best practice standards and aged care reforms. The position drives operational performance, enables business growth, supports workforce development, and leads change management across the service.

What You Will Do
  • Lead, mentor, and support your team across all stages of the employee lifecycle
  • Set clear expectations and model MiCare's values to build a positive, high-performance team culture
  • Identify training needs and implement programs to ensure staff are skilled, confident, and capable
  • Coach and develop team members to grow professionally and make informed decisions within their areas of expertise
  • Act as a trusted leader and role model, guiding practice to support quality outcomes
  • Translate MiCare's Strategic Plan into actionable goals and support your team to implement them
What We're Looking For
  • Experienced and values-driven leader with a strong background in aged care, community services, or a related human services field
  • Deep knowledge of the Home Care Package program and understanding of the upcoming Support at Home reforms
  • Commitment to person-centred, culturally sensitive care and supporting older people to live with dignity and independence
You'll Bring To The Role
  • Proven leadership experience in community aged care, with a focus on service delivery, performance, and people development
  • Understanding of consumer-directed care, wellness and reablement
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Strong skills in planning, change management, budgeting, risk oversight, and reporting
  • Ability to work effectively in dynamic and evolving environments
  • Collaborative and adaptable approach with high levels of self-awareness, resilience, and cultural sensitivity
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and client management systems
  • Well-organised, self-motivated, and able to lead with empathy; committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of older people from diverse cultural backgrounds
