About Your New Role:
In this rewarding opportunity you will join the St Vincent's Private Hospital Melbourne (SVPHM) team as an Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) on the 6th Floor at our Fitzroy Campus. This is a part-time position covering a maternity leave from October 1, 2025, to October 1, 2026. The 6th floor is a 45 bed acute surgical ward specialising in Orthopaedic, Plastics, Vascular & Thoracic Surgery. The successful candidate will plan and implement nursing care to a high standard within an inclusive team focused on continuous improvement, teamwork and customer service.

- Works closely with NUM to provide direction, support and advice to nursing & support personnel on a shift-by-shift basis
- Constructively supports the leadership of the NUM and assumes the responsibilities of the NUM in the absence of the NUM
- Demonstrates ability and commitment to support organisational development as directed by the NUM
- Facilitates effective working relationships with staff, customers, patients and VMPs
- Liaise with the Clinical Co-ordinator and NUM to manage patient workload and staffing requirements on a shift-by-shift basis
- Participates & actively supports the achievement of the Unit and Organisational KPIs, Mission, Vision & Values
Our experienced team of clinical professionals, care givers and support staff are equipped to provide the highest level of therapeutic, medical and surgical services. We are a not for profit Catholic private hospital which operates across four sites at Fitzroy, East Melbourne, Kew and Werribee.
Requirements & Qualifications- Registered with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
- Completed, or working towards, Postgraduate qualifications in the relevant clinical specialty
- National Criminal History Check
- A valid Working with Children check
- Criminal record and/or child protection checks will be conducted and will form part of the selection criteria for this role
Immunisations
SVHA has immunisation requirements (including COVID-19 and flu vaccinations) per the SVHA Immunisation Policy. Category A and Category B immunisations may apply depending on the role.
