Overview

NUM - Mental Health (Maternity Leave Cover) role at Healthscope. The Nurse Unit Manager will lead a mental health inpatient unit to cover maternity leave for 12 months (Oct 25 - 26).

Responsibilities
  • Provide operational direction of the unit to ensure efficient and effective management
  • Coordinate the delivery of nursing care that is evidence based
  • Ensure the delivery of excellent patient and family centred care in a team focused environment
  • Provide guidance, mentoring and support to the team
  • Be accountable for the effective management of human, financial and material resources
  • Undertake direct patient care, as required
  • Compliance with ACQSHC National standards
Essential Criteria
  • Current Registration with AHPRA
  • Registered Nurse with at least 5 years' experience in inpatient mental health settings; knowledge of NSQHS/ACHS Standards
  • Understanding of HoNOS
  • Proven experience building and leading high performing teams with a service excellence approach
  • Demonstrated ability to foster positive working relations with a wide range of diverse stakeholders
  • Good knowledge of labour management
  • Understanding of private health funding requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Commitment to a high standard of clinical and customer focused care
  • High degree of computer literacy including MS Office and various databases
  • Ability to work cohesively within a team environment
