Brief Description

This will include the identification and delivery of capital investments relating to; Electrical and automation and control projects (routine replacement and continuous improvement) in coordination with the Re.Group site and Projects teams.

Whilst primarily reporting to the operational recycling organisation, this role will also offer support and guidance to the Strategic Development's team, where required to ensure high electrical standards are maintained and aligned to the group electrical and automation standards.

Key Aspects Of The Role Are

• Responsible for overseeing, management and standardisation of the relevant Australian Electrical safety standards such as AS/NZS 3000:2018 & AS 2467-2008 in relation to the installation, maintenance and compliance of equipment and capital activities at all sites, whether undertaken by Re.Group employees or sub-contract companies.
• To define and work with the network of sites to implement the strategy for the electrical and automation, planned, preventative, and routine maintenance for all Re.Cycle operating sites. This includes establishing both mandatory regulatory inspections, and best practice preventative maintenance techniques.
• Support for the delivery of the Re.Cycle capex program, jointly with the Operations team, for existing operating units including the management of maintenance for critical equipment electrical safety standards and interlocking for refurbishment of existing equipment and installation of new.
• Responsible for working closely with RDT Group Engineering, the Strategic Capital Projects Division and the Site Operations Teams, to develop capex plans, and to coordinate the electrical and automation aspects of their delivery for all operating units.
• High level fault finding and analytics on major breakdowns, technical support and direction in the event of electrical or control issues. To lead electrical fault-finding processes ensuring RCA (root cause analysis) is conducted as per the standard and subsequent corrective actions and learnings are applied across the Re.Cycle division.
• Optimise electrical and automation expenditure by advising on local R & M expenditure, ensuring support contractor service providers deliver value for money and are aligned to Re.Group equipment and technical standards.
  
  

Requirements

• Degree or similar tertiary equivalent in Electrical and electronic engineering
• Experience in electrical / automation and management roles (>10 years) in manufacturing industries is required, ideally recycling operations. Operational experience in continuous process industries where maximizing plant availability is key.
• Ability to work with diverse teams across multiple sites.
• Track record of delivering capability/process improvement and setting electrical maintenance standards for an organisation
• Strong analytical, root cause analysis and problems solving skills.
• Driven to implement compliant electrical standards and high levels of safe working practices.
  
  

Summary

As the Operations Electrical & Automation Engineer, you will lead the development and implementation of safe, compliant, and efficient electrical and automation systems across Re.Cycle's material recovery facilities.
