LET'S EXPLORE THE ROLE
Support the management and successful delivery of electrical infrastructure projects across BAI Communications, with primarily focus on the renewal and upgrade of critical electrical assets, including switchboards, distribution systems, and standby generators. Additionally, the role contributes to the planning and implementation of renewable energy systems to enhance the sustainability and efficiency of the network.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and specify electrical infrastructure systems in support of broadcast operations.
- Provide engineering support to project and program managers throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct commissioning and acceptance activities in accordance with BAI Communications standards and test procedures.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic maintenance and asset evaluation programs covering main and standby power systems assets.
- Review electrical system designs for compliance and suitability for purpose.
- Undertake supply authority liaison to facilitate delivery of network growth projects
- Investigate and prioritise network issues as submitted by field teams and other stakeholders.
- Provide subject matter expertise and technical assistance across the organisation.
- Undertake inspection of BAI Communications facilities and other field operations as required.
- Keep abreast of current and emerging technologies, standards and similar industry developments.
LET'S HEAR ABOUT YOU
- A degree in Electrical Engineering, sufficient for Graduate level entry to the Institution of Engineers Australia.
- Additional certifications in fire detection systems, emergency power systems, or renewable energy technologies would be highly regarded.
- Must hold a valid Australian full driver's licence and be capable of independently driving to and from work sites as required.
- Understanding of the electrical regulations and statutory requirements including competence with electrical design and AS/ NZS 3000
- Experience in multiple aspects of commercial electrical work with previous experience with or exposure to renewable and standby power generator systems, UPS systems, source transfer switching, metering, switchboards, earthing, surge protection and associated controls systems
- Experience with on-site commissioning activity is required
- You will have working knowledge with AutoCAD and PowerCAD
- Proficiency in the design, installation, testing, and maintenance of fire detection systems, with a thorough understanding of compliance requirements is required.
