Truck Mechanic – On the Tools

Heatherton, VIC

Lantrak is looking for a skilled, experienced truck mechanic to join our team on the tools at our new, purpose-built truck onboarding and inspection facility in Heatherton.

This isn't your typical workshop gig. You'll be part of a small, trusted crew responsible for keeping trucks moving safely and efficiently, using state-of-the-art equipment and working on a variety of vehicles and systems.

If you're practical, hands-on, and take pride in doing the job right the first time, this is the role for you.

About the Role

You'll be responsible for :

Carrying out inspections, maintenance and repairs on a range of heavy vehicles and plant

Using brake testers, hoists, diagnostic tools, and other workshop equipment

Identifying faults and carrying out efficient, safe repairs

Supporting the onboarding of new trucks into Lantrak's fleet by ensuring all mechanical and compliance requirements are met

Keeping clear records of repairs, servicing and inspections

Maintaining a clean and safe workshop environment

Working closely with other team members to keep workflows on track

About You

You're a qualified mechanic who's good on the tools, knows their way around a truck, and works best in a hands-on, no-fuss environment.

Trade qualified heavy vehicle mechanic

Experience across a variety of trucks and systems

Able to work independently and solve problems under pressure

Strong understanding of safety, compliance, and service standards

Good communicator and team player

Organised, reliable, and comfortable using diagnostic equipment and workshop systems
