About The Role:

The Principal Project Manager (Digital) within Major Projects is responsible for ensuring the provision of strategy, direction and technical expertise to ensure that digital solutions are aligned with the existing and future state health information systems and support the transition to operations and commissioning of the Women and Babies Hospital (NWBHP).

This role ensures appropriate review and advice is provided for the delivery of all digital aspects of the NWBHP, including the design, procurement, installation, testing and commissioning and digital infrastructure implementation in accordance with the scope, schedule, quality standards and specifications. The role will include technical oversight of sophisticated hospital digital systems such as enterprise compute systems, network systems, nurse call, automated guided vehicles and pharmacy robotics.

The Principal Project Manager (Digital) coordinates the design and delivery of digital systems that form part of the NWBHP, ensuring that the outcomes are aligned with the NWBHP objectives, scope, and quality standards, and that any issues or risks are identified and resolved in a timely manner. The position will maintain visibility of proposed amendments to digital project scope and provide advice on potential risks of such amendments on the project as well as viable solutions to mitigate these risks including managing communications and collaboration among the digital team and the NWBHP team, as well as other stakeholder such as end-users, vendors, regulators and external consultants.

About You:

  • You will possess an extensive understanding of the technical and commercial aspects of digital hospital delivery under a complex building procurement environment, ideally under a major project procurement methodology such as a managing contractor form of procurement;
  • You will have an understanding of digital procurement by State Government and how it relates to Health service delivery;
  • You have the ability to establish networks and communicate and negotiate effectively with key, high level stakeholders in a complex digital infrastructure project environment;
  • You can demonstrate highly developed conceptual and analytical skills; and
  • You will be passionate and committed to deliver value for money outcomes for the State and the community of WA as a whole.

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to appoint to this advertised vacancy, it may also be used to appoint to similar positions that may arise in the Agency within the next twenty-four (24) months on a full-time or part-time, fixed-term basis with the possibility of further extension(s).
