The Principal Project Officer plays an important leadership role managing the preparation and implementation of Victoria's first offshore wind energy market auction. The Principal Project Officer will help drive the successful execution of this major State energy market auction, including delivery of commercial auction documentation, transaction management, navigating government approval processes, engaging with the Commonwealth Government and progressing this major project through the State's High Value High Risk (HVHR) Framework.

This position plays a crucial role in working across government to inform decision-makers about the commercial aspects of the auction, responsibility for implementing the transaction management plan, ensure timely decision-making, and effectively manage highly sensitive information.

**Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications**
- An appropriate Tertiary qualification(s) in Economics, Legal or Commercial management would be highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in major projects or complex policy delivery, with experience in energy or major infrastructure project sector (including transaction management), either within government or industry, being highly desirable.
- Understanding of the Victorian energy sector including the regulatory frameworks and National Electricity Market would be desirable.
- Demonstrated experience or knowledge in commercial contract management and processes, senior level strategic advice to government entities would be desirable.

**This is a fixed term position available until 30 June 2027. The work location for this position is 8 Nicholson Street, East Melbourne with hybrid work arrangements available.**
