Position details

Established trawling company working in the Australian Fishing Zones, seeks the following full-time positions: Ships Master, Ships Engineer, Master Fisher, Ships Officer, Deckhands & Fishing Hands, Seafood Processors.

Responsibilities and requirements
  • For all positions, verifiable references are required. You must be strong as this role involves working on a deck, often in heavy seas and sometimes in cramped spaces.
  • Ranked positions may include in- vessel management of fishing operations in consultation with company owners.
  • You should be prepared to be away from home for several days or occasionally weeks with short turnarounds.
  • Where required, hold the appropriate license or registration (tickets must be held to be considered).
  • Sea time considerations vary by position: at least 1 year of Australian work experience for Fishing and Deckhands; at least 5 years relevant experience for ranked positions; more may be considered subject to experience.
Compensation and benefits
  • Annual salary ranges (examples): Ship's Master $120,000+; Ships Engineer (Fishing) $72,000–$82,000; Master Fisher $75,000–$82,000; Ship's Officer $72,000–$82,000; Deck and Fishing Hands $68,800–$78,000 (all plus superannuation).
  • Salary is negotiable based on qualifications, skills, experience and performance; government superannuation guarantee applies.
Seafood Processors
  • We are also seeking experienced seafood process workers; both full-time and seasonal vacancies.
  • For Seafood Processor: minimum 2 years' experience with verifiable references.
  • Typical duties include unloading, sorting, dressing/filleting, packing, inspecting and grading seafood, operating relevant equipment, and ensuring workplace safety regulations are complied with.
Wages for Seafood Processors

The salary for this full-time position is between $68,800 and in excess of $78,000 per year plus superannuation guarantee for highly experienced industry workers.
