Recycling Team Leader

Salary £14.65 per hour

Hours 41 hours per week, including weekends and bank holidays

Location Foxhall HWRC, IP10 0BG

As a Recycling Team Leader at FCC Environment, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of one of our busy Recycling Centres. You will lead by example to ensure safety, operational efficiency and the highest levels of customer service. Youll motivate your team, promote recycling and reuse initiatives and make a real impact on our environment and local communities.

This vacancy is for a full-time position, working five days per week.

What will you be doing?
  • Leading and supporting site staff to ensure smooth, safe and efficient operations
  • Maintaining health and safety standards in accordance with legislation and company procedures
  • Delivering excellent customer service and supporting site users with recycling and disposal
  • Promoting and managing site reuse and recycling initiatives
  • Carrying out daily inspections and ensuring compliance with environmental permits
  • Managing container movements, chargeable waste and site records
  • Ensuring accurate completion of paperwork and use of systems such as HData
  • Monitoring staffing levels and ensuring all operatives are working safely and appropriately equipped
  • Reporting issues and working collaboratively with the Contract Area Supervisor
  • Supporting enforcement around the unlawful deposit of waste

What are we looking for?
  • Experience in a customer-facing role (essential)
  • Supervisory or team-leading experience (essential)
  • Experience in a waste or recycling environment (desirable)
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • A positive, proactive attitude to safety and service delivery
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good time management and resilience
  • Willingness to work weekends and travel across Suffolk as required
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
  • 360 excavator operator trained or willing to train
  • First Aid trained or willing to undertake training
