About The Opportunity

This is a deeply rewarding opportunity for a passionate mental health and wellbeing leader to support frontline health staff across South Western Sydney Local Health District.

The Manager, Staff Wellbeing and Support Service provides leadership and strategic direction to the SWSLHD internal employee assistance program, delivering staff psychological health and wellbeing initiatives and interventions.

You will lead a dedicated and collaborative team, engaging with a broad spectrum of clinical and non-clinical staff facing diverse presentations—from stress and burnout to grief, trauma, and workplace conflict. The Staff Wellbeing Service plays a vital role in fostering resilience and emotional strength within the workforce, providing confidential counselling, group education, and structured debriefing sessions that address both personal and professional challenges.

You will partner with senior leaders for strategic approaches to create meaningful change in addressing staff wellbeing and psychological health concerns.

You'll have the opportunity to contribute to innovative wellbeing initiatives and quality improvement strategies, while advancing your own skills through ongoing professional development and training.

Whether providing one-on-one sessions, facilitating team education, or engaging in strategic service improvement, you'll be helping to build a healthier, more connected healthcare community.

What You'll Be Doing

The Manager, Staff Wellbeing and Support Service (SWSS) provides leadership and strategic direction to the SWSLHD internal employee assistance program. The position ensures delivery of contemporary services to meet organisational needs and supports the development of a positive workplace culture. The service encompasses a broad range of employee and manager support programs. The SWSS Manager will develop and operationalise responsive and proactive staff counsilling and wellbeing strategies and interventions.

Where You'll Be Working

Liverpool Hospital Eastern Campus is an integral part of the Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct, focusing on education, research, and specialised healthcare services.

The Eastern Campus houses the Liverpool Education and Research Centre, which includes conference facilities, seminar rooms, and a computer room, providing a hub for medical education and professional development.

This campus supports various training programs and events, such as advanced trauma days and emergency resuscitation courses, enhancing the skills and knowledge of healthcare professionals.

Located in Warwick Farm, the Eastern Campus is easily accessible and plays a crucial role in fostering innovation and excellence in healthcare within the South Western Sydney Local Health District.

• Appropriate tertiary qualifications and eligible for membership of the relevant professional organization and/or state registration, with demonstrated skills and experience at an advanced counselling level.
• Demonstrated experience in design, development and delivery of staff wellbeing initiatives across a complex, high-pressure environment.
• Describe how you've influenced workplace culture through targeted wellbeing strategies or interventions.
• Demonstrated experience in consulting with Executive or Senior Managers on psychological and psychosocial health risk and developing responsive wellbeing initiatives.
• Describe your leadership practices and experience in leading high-quality service delivery in a decentralised model, ensuring consistent and responsiveness service across varied locations and teams.
• Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
