We are seeking compassionate and skilled individuals to provide emotional and spiritual support to our staff and their families, as well as the communities we serve.

This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the wellbeing and spiritual development of our team, as we work toward our mission of transforming lives through aviation.

About the Role

Pastoral Carers differ from counselors or psychologists in that they offer a listening ear rather than solving staff concerns. They aim to assure staff that they are not forgotten, provide a platform to freely express themselves, voice concerns, and make requests.

The successful candidates will commit to one programme, making annual return visits for two to three weeks over a minimum of three years. This continuity aims to establish trust with the staff and ensure that the responsibilities are manageable.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Emotional Support: Provide emotional and spiritual support to MAF staff and their families through listening well, prayer, and pastoral guidance.
  2. Spiritual Growth: Develop and implement strategies for promoting spiritual growth and emotional wellness among MAF staff.
  3. Team-Building: Facilitate team-building activities and events that foster a strong sense of community and camaraderie among MAF staff.
  4. Collaboration: Collaborate with MAF leadership and other departments to develop and execute programs and initiatives that promote the spiritual health of our organization.
  5. Community Engagement: Build relationships with the local communities we serve and provide pastoral care and support as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Cross-Cultural Experience: Previous experience working in cross-cultural environments is essential.
  • Listenable Abilities: Excellent listening abilities and communication skills are required.
